Did you know that Cortina is the town with the most via ferratas in the world?
The vie ferrate in the Dolomites are undoubtedly one of the most characteristic aspects of mountain climbing: an excursion on rocky terrain, equipped with fixed ropes, to offer a middle way between climbing and high altitude hiking.
Think of the thrill of walking along the tracks dating back to the First World War of 1915-18: when the armies guarded the ridge areas, they equipped them with metal ropes, ladders and sometimes bridges to reach them more easily.
The fascination of this activity conquers even the most inexperienced hikers, who for the first time experience the thrill of altitude and the vertical.
